Liquid penetrant testing
Penetrant Testing involves applying a visible or fluorescent dye to the surface. The dye enters the discontinuities by capillary action. The method can be applied to any non-absorbent material with uncoated surfaces.
Shore-NDT has developed a water-wash penetrant procedure, recently approved by Gasunie, the Dutch gas board.
This procedure uses controlled air-pressure, water-pressure and water temperature resulting in a more controlled inspection. Clients can choose either colour-contrast (red & white) through our white light on line wash inspection or fluorescent inspection with use of our ambient black light on line wash inspection.
We feel our black light wash system is the most thorough method of penetrant inspection as it adopts the most sensitive penetrants, and at the same time reduces the risk of product over wash.
Our full penetrant service can also be supplied on-site, at the Hengelo facility or at the premises of our client.
